One day online Workshop-cum-Training on “Robotics”
Department of MCA
An online Workshop-cum-Training on “Robotics” was organized by the Department of MCA, Patna Women’s College on 16th April, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. through Zoom platform. Mr. Abhishek Anand from NIT Patna, Patna was the resource person. Students of MCA semester-II (2021-2023) attended the Workshop-cum-Training on ‘Robotics’, where they got the concept of motor controlling and implementation of that concept to build “Self-Driving Car”.
The Welcome address was given by Dr. Bhawna Sinha, Head, Assistant Professor, Department of MCA and Vote of thanks was given by Mr. Braj Kishor Prasad, Assistant Professor, Department of MCA, Patna Women’s College. The faculty members Ms. Sushmita Chakarborthy, Mr. Praveen Kumar, Mr. Braj Kishor Prasad, Assistant Professors, of Department of MCA, Patna Women’s College were present online.
The 3 Day Online International Conference on Empowering Smart Future through Scientific Development and Technology was organized by The Research Committee and the Department of Computer Applications (MCA), Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), which was co-sponsored and co-chaired by MOL2NET, Switzerland, from 05.05.2022 to 7.5.2022. This conference provided a forum for researchers around the Local National and International levels to explore and discuss recent trends in Science & Technology.
The objective of this conference was to provide a platform for Researchers, Students, Academicians, and Industrial Professionals from all over the world to present their research results and development activities in relevant fields of Science and Technology; and to provide opportunities for the delegates to find global partners for future collaboration.
We received more than 100 quality papers from several states spanning from Sikkim to Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to Maharashtra and Karnataka, and from other parts of the globe such as Bulgaria, New York, and the United Kingdom. We received responses from all ranges of academics and researchers – starting from professors to assistant professors, research scholars, and Industry Personnels to Postgraduate students from reputed Universities and Institutions.

Farewell Celebration of MCA 2019-2022

The Department of MCA, Patna Women’s College celebrated the Farewell of 2019-2022 batch. A warm event was organized by the junior batch of MCA 2021-2023. The event began with welcoming the outgoing students with a rose.
The program was hosted by Nisha Kumari and Sonali Kumari, who welcomed the guests and the judges of the event were Ms. Priyanka Singh, Assistant Professor, Dept of Fashion Designing and Ms. Sushmita Chakraborty, Assistant Professor, Dept of MCA along with the faculties of MCA and BCA also joined this farewell ceremony. The program started with a prayer dance by Anjali Singh marked the beginning of the ceremony. Consequently the students of 2019-2022 walked down the ramp and introduced their code number to the judges.
Ms. Madhu Madhavi was felicitated and given the title of Miss All Rounder and Miss Charismatic to
Ms. Zanaib Fatima of MCA Semester VI Session 2019-2022. They were crowned and sashed by Ms. Bhawna Sinha, Head, Dept of MCA and Ms. Manisha Prasad, Head, Dept of BCA.
Dr. Bhawna Sinha, Head, Dept of MCA spoke few words and addressed the outgoing students.
At last the class representative of 2019-2022 batch shared her journey of three years experience and the program came to an end.
Report on one day online Workshop-cum-Training on “Robotics”

An online Workshop-cum-Training on “Robotics” was organized by the Department of MCA, Patna Women’s College on 16th April, 2022. Mr. Abhishek Anand from NIT Patna, Patna was the resource person. Students of MCA semester-II (2021-2023) attended the Workshop-cum-Training on ‘Robotics’, where they got the concept of motor controlling and implementation of that concept to build “Self-Driving Car”.
He had discussed about “Robots & Robotics”. A robot is a type of automated machine that can execute specific tasks with little or no human intervention and with speed and precision. Robotics is the branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, and application of robots. Further, he had explained the first use of the word Robotics, 4R’s of Robotics, Robotics Technology. He had also discussed how to make robotic project using Arduino, features of Arduino, types of Arduino Board, sketch structure of Arduino etc. Moreover, implementation of Arduino were also discussed via live session.

Pariksha Pe Charcha – 2022

On 1st April 2022 “Pariksha Pe Charcha-2022” an annual PM student interaction concerning the stress due to exams was telecasted for the students of MCA Semester –I (2021-2023). It was the fifth in the “Pariksha Pe Charcha” series, being conducted in Talkatora Stadium. The event started with Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi visiting the model display done my school students of class 4-12th. Among those, a group of two students who developed 3D printed radio was asked to autograph their display and it was kept by Prime Minister himself, that was an auspicious moment for even the MCA students watching it.
Those displays belonged to different domains of art and culture, science and technology, IT and social welfare. After visiting each group PM headed to the stage where many students including students with special abilities, parents and teachers were waiting for his inspiring words. The students belonged to schools from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Haryana from different schools like Kendriya Vidyalaya, Rajkiya Kanya Inter College, Doon Public and DAV.
The hosts then invited our Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan for enlightening the audience. The program progressed with different hosts calling out students who were asking their queries regarding the pressure they have to face during the exams. Those questions were answered in a very engaging way by honora’ble Prime Minister. He even assured that if any question remains unanswered in the present moment it would be surely replied to the corresponding student through NaMo app. There was discussion about the NEP 2020 too.
The event then concluded with a positive aura and a decreased level of exam stress for the students’, teachers’ and parents’ as well. Through the program honour’ble Prime Minister not only encouraged the students but also kept his way of dealing with their questions very amiable. This helped them a lot and they returned home with a smile on their faces. This was even the case for MCA students watching the live telecast.
A Workshop on ‘Higher Education in India & Abroad, Jobs & higher education’

A Workshop on ‘Higher Education in India & Abroad, and Job opportunities’ was organized by Department of MCA on 29th March 2022. The Resource person for the workshop was Dr. Saroj Kumar Suman, Director, Brainstorm Achievers Academy. Total 56 students of MCA Semester –I (2021-2023) participated in this workshop.
The objective of the workshop was to make students aware of the career paths available after the completion of MCA. The event started at 10:00 a.m. Dr. Bhawna Sinha, Head, Department of MCA cordially welcomed the guests Mr. Saroj Kumar Suman and Mr. Bhardwaj. Mr. Saroj revised certain familiar concepts to the students with a twist that will give an edge to them in any competitive exams. The first part of the session included solving questions and clarification of doubts.
In the later part of the session an informative presentation was made by Suman sir. The agenda of the presentation was to highlight different options available to MCA students like NET, JRF, PSC, PO. Apart from choosing a career, the option of higher studies was also analytically presented to the students, the pros and cons of choosing to continue with academic was well informed to the audience. Studying abroad is a choice for many they were also helped as every stone was turned by Mr Suman and a clear route to fulfill their studying in abroad dream was shown to the students.
The session as a whole benefited everyone present. It cleared all the arousing doubts of the students and helped them decide their career in which they can grow with their full potential.
Campus Placement Drive

A Placement Drive was conducted in The MCA department, Patna Women’s College by Polytropic Services Pvt. Ltd., for the post of Web Developer on 7th and 12th March 2022. On 7th March 2022, the first round of aptitude test and one to one interview was conducted and 9 out of 23 students were selected for the next technical round. The Technical round was conducted on 12.03.2022. 4 students out of 9 were finally selected of the session 2019-2022 t. These students will join as a Web Developer at the package of 3LPA.

Department of MCA, Patna Women’s College, organised Slogan Writing Competition on Yoga Day on the theme ‘Yoga for Wellness’ on 02 May, 2022. The students of MCA Semester II participated in the competition. Ms. Poonam A. Lakra and Mr. Braj Kishor Prasad judged the competition and announced the winners.

Fresher’s Day Programme was organized by the Department of MCA on 30.10.2021 to welcome the new batch of students.
The program proceeded by a melodious welcome song sung by the group of students Megha Rani, Pooja, Akansha, Akriti, Pallavi and Urvashi followed by a solo dance by Mansi. A form of Marshal Arts ‘Kata’ was performed by Ankita. A skit on the theme ‘Save Water’ was performed by a group of students: Arti, Pallavi, Sristie, Anjali Anand, Anu, Ananya and Navya. Henceforth a group dance performance by Mansi, Preety and Priyanka. Nisha Singh and Sonali did the anchoring. The series of events were ceased by a solo dance by Tanya. The guests for the day were Papita Dey Biswas Asst. Professor of Fine Arts and Dr Pallavi, HOD of BBA.
Report on Guest Lecture organized by the department of MCA on 6th October, 2021
An Online Guest Lecture on the topic “How to write Research Paper” was organized by the department of MCA, Patna Women’s College on 6th October, 2021. Dr. Indrajeet Ghosal from Poornima University, Rajasthan, was the resource person. Students of first, third and fifth semesters attended the lecture, where they got insight into writing a research paper, and also about academic journals.
MCA Semester III and Semester V attended the lecture online, while MCA Semester I watched the broadcasting of the lecture in the Lab.
PARENT TEACHER MEET MCA SEMESTER –I (2021-2023) 30.09.2021
Department of MCA conducted a Virtual Parent Teacher Meet For semester I session 2021-23 on 30th September 2021, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Zoom
The meeting started with a Prayer song, after which Dr. Bhawna Sinha, HOD, explained the Parents and students about the Vision, Mission and Core Values of Patna Women’s College. It followed by an interaction session where all queries of parents were addressed and also parents role in students development and expectations of teachers from students were highlighted. All the faculty members were introduced to the parents. At the end of the session, Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Tapan Kant.
A Report on Personality Development based on Values of Life
The Department of MCA, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous organized a session on Personality Development on “Values of life” for the month of September through Zoom platform. Dr. Bhawna Sinha, Head, Department of MCA conducted the session for MCA Semester I; Ms. Sushmita Chakraborty, Assistant Professor, Department of MCA conducted the session for MCA Semester III; and Mr. Braj Kishor Prasad conducted the offline session for MCA Semester V students on 27.09.2021.
A short film was shown based on “The King of the Sky: Eagle Mentality” that describes vision of the life.. This video gave the students a moral value that “Be fearless and fly High like an Eagle”. The students shared their views after watching the videos. They stated the
“Life gives us many opportunities; it’s on us how we make the best of it”.

Guest Lecture on Machine Learning for Computer Vision

The Department of MCA, Patna Women’s College has organized a Guest Lecture on “Machine Learning for Computer Vision”. The Resource person was Dr. Durgesh Kumar Mishra, Director, Shri Aurobindo Institute of Technology, Indore, M. P.
He had discussed the application of “Machine Learning for Computer Vision”. Computer vision is the process of understanding digital images and videos using computers. This involves methods of acquiring, processing, analyzing, and understanding digital images, and extraction of data from the real world to produce information. He started his lecture with the detailed explanation of Machine Learning and its application in various domains. Further, he had explained the various tools used in the application of Machine Learning. Moreover, the challenges in Machine Learning were also discussed.
Students of semester II, & V, Faculty members of the Department of MCA were present during the online lecture. The students of MCA Semester – IV( 2019-2022) went for Field visit to Patliputra BSNL Exchange on 8th April 2021. Fresher’s Day Celebration
The Department of MCA, Patna Women’s College organized a Cultural Programme to welcome the newcomers on the Fresher’s Day. Dr. Bhawna Sinha, Head and all the other faculty members and students of First and Fourth Semester attended the programme. The students performed different cultural activities such as song, dance, poem, etc. to showcase their talent. Personality Development on “Human Values” Date: 28.06.2021
The Department of MCA, Patna Women’s College, organized a session on Personality Development on “Human Values” on 28th June 2021 at 11:30 a.m. through Zoom platform. The students of MCA Semester-V Session: 2019-2022 had attended the discussion.
Ms. Sushmita Chakraborty, Assistant Professor, Department of MCA conducted the session. She stated that our values are important because they help us to grow and develop. Small videos were shown based on the theory of the “Big Five Personality Traits” and “THE TOP 10 HUMAN VALUES”. A short film based on “Humanity Exists” was shown which gave the students a moral value that “Humanity doesn’t charge Money – It’s a Joy of Giving”.
World Environment Day- “No life without mother – No birth without Land” Date : 05.06.2021
The Department of MCA, Patna Women’s College celebrated World Environment Day- “No life without mother – No birth without Land” on 5th June 2021 through Poster Presentation. The students of both MCA Semester–II and Semester-V along with the faculty members of the department participated in this event. Dr. Bhawna Sinha, Head, Department of MCA gave a speech on “World Environment Day”. She stated the importance of how we can keep harmony with nature for better future.

Department of MCA organized Slogan Competition on the theme “Jal Jeevan Hariyali’.
Coding Competition was organized in MCA Department during the second day (27/09/19) of the Tech Fest. Total 42 participants from various colleges participated. Judges were Mr. Sudip Mukherjee, Senior Database Manager, Water Resource Department and Dr. Rajiv Misra from IIT, Patna.
A talk on “Applications of WSN in Agricultural Environment Monitoring Systems” was organized by MCA department on 25/09/2019 Resource person was Mohamed Rawidean Mohd Kassim, MIMOS, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
